How do you drain the water out of a waterbed?
We are unable to remove water bed mattresses filled with water, so you’ll have to drain the water out of it first. It usually takes about one or two hours to drain a waterbed, but can take longer depending on the size of the bed, as well as the length and angle of the hose. Here’s how:
- Unplug your waterbed’s temperature control unit, if applicable.
- Attach one end of a garden hose to an outside faucet or spigot and the other to the waterbed’s drain valve.
- Turn water on for 15 seconds to create a siphon.
- Turn off water and disconnect hose from the outside faucet and place it on the ground to drain.
**Note: Hose must stay lower than the waterbed in order to drain properly.
Will CostPlus pick my waterbed up from the curb?
CostPlus offers curbside pickup services for all the unwanted junk items we remove! If you’d prefer to have your waterbed picked up curbside, or are unable to be present for your removal appointment, we’ll haul it away for a discounted price. Simply move your fully-drained waterbed to the curb or other designated pickup area around your home, and we’ll do the rest.

Am I required to disassemble my waterbed before you'll remove it?
As a full-service junk removal company, we provide a complete solution for removing and disposing of your old waterbed and other unwanted junk. This includes disassembly as an add-on for waterbeds that require extensive disassembly for safe removal from your home. The only thing we require is that you drain any remaining water from the mattress before our arrival. The draining process can take up to two hours, so make sure to give yourself enough time for the mattress to fully drain.
If you think your waterbed might require disassembly, you can add disassembly service online via our online booking system. From the Order Details screen, turn the option for disassembly on. You can then select the item or items in your junk removal order that require disassembly.
